Push-Ups For Peanut Butter is a lifestyle blog that focuses on realistic health and fitness for moms. Being a mother is without a doubt one of the hardest things you can ever do. Add in trying to stay healthy and fit and you have a true challenge. My blog is centered around how to make fitness easier for new moms while still being effective.
I chose the name “Push-Ups For Peanut Butter” because I want my blog to be a balance. Life long health and fitness has to be realistic and to me that means working out to eat. Food is incredible and if being fit meant only eating rice and chicken for the rest of my life then I would just have to die fat and happy. I want to bring you stories and tips about how I’m fitting in eating, drinking and working out into my crazy life as a mom of two (three if you count my husband) and working personal trainer.
Before you venture out into my blog I would love for you to check out some of my most popular posts.
My health and fitness has been a roller coaster ever since I can remember. When I was in elementary school I was severely overweight and unhealthy. (I blame my grandpa who gave me an undying love of all things sweet). As I entered high school I decided enough was enough and became involved in Colorguard and lost most of the weight and began to fall in love with physical activity. When I graduated in 2012 I got my first gym membership and became a bit of a gym junkie. I also fell in love with running and ran my first marathon later that year.
At this point I knew I wanted to help people become healthier because I personally understood how difficult that transformation could be. I started nursing school and after two years and some regrettable student loans I decided that nursing was not quite the correct direction for me. I changed direction and decided to get my personal trainer’s license. Honestly, I can say that this was one of the best things I have ever done for myself. When I took on my very first training client (bless her soul because my goodness I had no idea what I was doing at the time) I was hooked. I absolutely love my job!
While I was in the process of getting my personal trainers license I became pregnant with my son James. My husband and I got married about two months later. James was born in February of 2016 and I swear my world has been turned up side down ever since. He is a tiny tornado that cannot be held back and I love him more that I can begin to express. My husband and I decided we wanted another baby relatively close in age and after several miscarriages we ended up having our daughter, Olivia, in October of 2017.
I appreciate you taking the time to get to know me and I’m here to help you with anything you may need!
